UNTWINNED - The first book in the Womb Twin series took two years to create. At that time I had a whole lot of information about womb twin survivors, but most importantly, I discovered many other people, better qualified than me, who were discovering the same things. They were qualified in their own fields and worth taking notice of, so I supposed that a housewife sitting at her computer in St Albans could not be the author of any kind of book at that stage, but an anthology of peices written by reputable people from around the world may help to put these ideas on to a sound footing.
On the same day in 2006 I came up with two ideas, both of which came to fruition in 2007: an anthology of articles about womb twin survivors and an organisation to support them, Womb Twin - but more of that later.
When a twin dies before birth, the sole survivor needs help and understanding. Womb twin survivors are the sole survivors of a twin or multiple pregnancy. This group, 1 in 10 of the population, includes survivors of a stillbirth, miscarriage, abortion and a "vanishing twin" pregnancy. It is a story of a twin bond broken by death, leaving a lonely survivor.

So it begins...
Well, I have at last after seven years begun what I have come to call "The magnum opus" - the Great task.
- I have 4 gigobytes of computer files on the subject of wombtwin survivors
- I have seven large ring binders of papers
- I have 500 completed questionnaires, about half of them with a story
- I have 43 wonderful people who have agreed for me to quote anonymously from their story.
- I have articles on various aspects of being a wombtwin survivor, all referenced.
- I have 350 references already in my Endnote library
- I have time, energy, commitment (not to say obsession!) and about 9 months.
Can I do it? Can I bring to birth the Book of the Wombtwin project?
Working title: "Wombtwin Survivors: the Lost Twin in the Dream of the Womb."
